Marrying a UK citizen? Pass English test.

clippers remarks: This is laughable. Perhaps India, Thailand and Vietnam should institute Hindi, Thai and Vietnamese language tests for the thousands of Anglo men who travel to their countries in search of sex and/or wives. Anglos must not have a clue about the privileges they receive in this world. In many countries, It is so easy to stay illegally if you are an Anglo or European (I know many people who do). And if caught, bribe an official. If you have, as in my case, [ii]wasta[/i] or Vitamin W youre really home free. I didnt have to go through the normal channels for my residency visa. I got an official escort (black Mercedes limo), to immigration and a nice cup of tea as I waited for my visa. I am treated better than the average Egyptian purely because I have an American Passport.

But you know what, developing nations will one day truly rival the west and then perhaps, we will see some tit-for-tat.

Home minister Theresa May announced that qualifying in the compulsory examinations, to be introduced this autumn, was mandatory before Indians could join their partners

May, who belongs to the traditional wing of the Conservative party, said: "I believe being able to speak English should be a pre-requisite for anyone who wants to settle here. The new English requirement for spouses will help promote integration, remove cultural barriers and protect public services."

"Its a privilege to come to the UK

"This is only the first step. We are currently reviewing English language requirements across the visa system with a view to tightening the rules further
