Start with his inane -- but touchingly American -- statement that "the people of Pakistan want the same things we want." Oh, really? How many Post readers think Sharia law would be a good idea? How about beating the crap out of women just for yuks? Or stoning them to death because they smiled at the wrong time? And lets ban alcohol, bare arms, dating and jobs for women. And grow those beards, fellas! Yeah, were tight. Were such good buds that, while the Pakistanis protect the worst elements within the Taliban, manipulate our key supply line and pander to terrorists, Obama wants to guarantee Pakistans stunningly corrupt politicians $1.5 billion in aid every year. Plus military aid. Why on earth should the Pakistanis help us when we reward them lavishly for screwing us? Want a truly fresh strategy that would work? End all support of any kind to Pakistan. Close our embassy. Theyre just like us, O says: A Pakistan political riot . . . er, rally. ![]() President Obama presented his "comprehensive new strategy" for Afghanistan and Pakistan. It was neither new, nor a strategy The rhetoric was masterly. The content was drivel. Obama rightly identified the main threat to us as al Qaeda, which he wants to "disrupt, dismantle and defeat." Then why are his efforts overwhelmingly directed toward the Taliban? The Taliban strategy is to make Afghanistan ungovernable for us. What if, instead of trying to claim worthless territory in the name of a corruption-poisoned Afghan government, we flipped the rules and just kept Afghanistan ungovernable for the Taliban? Wed need far fewer troops. And the investments return would be higher. Or how about Obamas ringing claim that the Taliban have "nothing to offer the Afghan people but terror and oppression?" Many Afghans -- at least among the Pashtun plurality -- dont agree. To his credit, Obama noted Pakistans importance Für die Inhalte dieses Feeds ist alleine der jeweilige Autor/Anbieter verantwortlich. Die Inhalte stellen nicht die Meinung von EasyRSS dar. Howard and his cronies are responsible for not fixing this situation after they committed to Iraq. Clip Source: www.abc.net.au A top secret Federal Government report has admitted Australian Defence Force (ADF) soldiers returning from war are not receiving adequate treatment for mental health problems. Experts estimate that up to 10 per cent of combatants returning from the Middle East and Afghanistan may be suffering long-term mental health disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Now, as part of an investigation by The Age and the ABCs 4 Corners team, ADF soldiers have spoken for the first time about the horrors they have seen and the trauma they live through because of their experiences. Five soldiers, some retired and some still serving, have told Four Corners about the condition, what it means for them and their families, and what some of them perceive as a failure by the ADF to treat them adequately. It has been described as shell-shock, battle fatigue and PTSD, but whatever it is called those who have it know it is a living hell. Jindal described the premise of the question -- "Do you want the president to fail?" -- as the "latest gotcha game" being perpetrated by Democrats against Republicans. Since conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh said that he hoped that Obama would fail, Republicans have been pressed by Democrats and the media about Limbaughs comments. Jindal, a potential 2012 presidential candidate, told the Republican audience he would "not be brow beaten on this, and I will not kowtow to their correctness." He made a point to criticize Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for a "spending spree" that he said "is costing the taxpayers more than the Iraq war, more than the Vietnam War, and, near and dear to my heart, even more than the Louisiana Purchase." The pace of the Predator attacks has accelerated dramatically since August, when the Bush administration made a previously undisclosed decision to abandon the practice of obtaining permission from the Pakistani government before launching missiles from the unmanned aircraft. Since Aug. 31, the CIA has carried out at least 38 Predator strikes in northwest Pakistan, compared with 10 reported attacks in 2006 and 2007 combined, in what has become the CIAs most expansive targeted killing program since the Vietnam War. Who would have ever dreamed that forty years later U.S. officials would have placed the financial well-being of our nation in the hands of the Chinese communists? Along with the wars of aggression, foreign occupations, torture and sex abuse, and dictatorial powers over the American people, it?s just another example of the road to economic ruin and moral debauchery that the pro-empire, pro-intervention crowd has plunged our nation.
